Summary of TOEFL

The TOEFL, or Test of English as a Foreign Language, is an exam designed to test one’s ability to use and understand English in an academic environment. It was created to address the problem of ensuring the English language proficiency of non-native speakers applying to universities and scholarships. Since then, it has become a standard admission requirement for non-native English speakers at many colleges and universities, and occasionally in other institutions.

Summary of IELTS

International English Language Testing System(IELTS) is an English language proficiency test; crucial for non-native speakers, who want to move to English-speaking countries for education, immigration, or job purpose. The test has been popular all over the world for more than 20 years. IELTS is recognized by around 9000 organizations as a valid marker of the true ability of the person to communicate and interact in English for varied purposes. IELTS is accepted by almost all universities in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Canada and it is a compulsory test in Australia. Many American Universities have also started accepting IELTS scores in place of TOEFL. Around 2 million tests of IELTS are conducted every year from all over the world. There are more than 800 test centers in 140 countries. IELTS is a joint venture of the British Council, Cambridge English &IDP Australia.
